Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti has placed a ban on commercial motorcycles on the streets of Aba and Umuahia townships.
Kazio Uko, Chief Press Secretary to the governor, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday evening.
He said the ban takes effect on Monday, August 14, 2023.
He directed security agencies in the two cities to arrest any individual caught violating the order for possible prosecution, adding that any motorcycle seized will be impounded.
