An advocacy group, Ogoni Mothers, has donated about 100 desks, school bags and food items to pupils of public schools in Bodo City, Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State, in a bid to support education and enhance learning conditions for children in the area.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, the President of Ogoni Mothers, Chief Priscilla Vikue, said the initiative was designed to motivate pupils to remain focused on their studies and personal growth despite existing challenges.
She stressed that education is essential for societal development and appealed to organizations, individuals and development partners to partner with the group in reaching more children across Ogoni communities.
In his remarks, the Principal of Bodo City Secondary School, Mr. Visung Jude, described the donation as a remarkable act of humanitarian service and dedication to the educational advancement of children in the community.
He thanked the Ogoni Mothers for the gesture, noting that the desks and educational materials would help create a better learning environment for the pupils.
