Former President of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Chief Onueze Okocha (SAN) has commended actions taken by the Rivers State Governor to fight the COVID-19 in the state. This is to help check the spread of coronavirus pandemic, he noted.
The SAN who made this known to journalists in an interview today stated that the Executive order signed by the state governor is appropriate. He urged those aggrieved by the decisions to approach the courts.
Okocha noted that the governor’s actions are well advised and timely. He also stated that he supports the governor on the demolition of the two hotels. “It’s not everything that is going to be on written law. By the authority of written law, some orders are made, some regulations are put in place and those flow naturally from the provisions of written law”, Okocha asserted.
He, furthermore, commended the governor for temporary lifting of the ban in Obio-Akpor and PHALGA, as he said it is timely to enable residents stuck-up food and medicine.
