The Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Amb. Chijioke Ihunwo has constituted a Peace and Reconciliation Committee in the LGA.
Media aide to the Chairman, Amadi Eze said the mandate of the committee is to reconcile and also recommend how communal crisis can be brought to an end in Obio-Akpor Local Government.
They are:
1. HRM. Eze Leslie Eke JP – Chairman.
2. HRM. Eze Ozuonwuonwu Orlu-Oruebe – Vice Chairman.
3. Dr. Prince Amechi – Secretary.
4. Barr. Obidinma Chiziebere Obidinma – Legal Adviser.
5. HRM. Ndamzi Nsirim – Member.
6. HRH. Eze Ray Chinda – Member.
7. HRH. Chukwuemeka Okocha – Member.
8. HRH. Eze Sunny Weli – Member.
They will be inaugurated on November 15th, 2024, therefore, members are expected to be seated at the Executive Chamber of the Council by 9am.
