The leadership of Simplified Movement headed by the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Obio Akpor Local Government Council, Hon. Chijioke Ihunwo yesterday kick-started its ward to ward visit.
Ihunwo who made this known in a statement on Monday, said the purpose of the initiative is to build a strong base for the Simplified Movement.
He said, “The leadership of Simplified Movement in Obio-Akpor local government, today kick-started the ward to ward visit.
“The purpose of the visit was to bring everyone on board and build a strong base for the Simplified Movement in the area.
“Speaking at ward seven Rumuokoro, as the Caretaker Chairman of Obio-Akpor local government, I also doubles as the leader of Simplified Movement in Obio-Akpor, I thanked the people of ward seven for their massive mobilization, I expressed my appreciation to the women of the ward for the support given to the Simplified Movement.
I stated that the local government belongs to everyone in Obio-Akpor, and anybody can occupy the position of leadership in the LGA.
I thanked the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara for giving Rumuokoro market to the people of the community to be incharge.
I said Ikwerre people enjoyed the support of the riverine people when in power and this time it is the turn of the riverine and Ikwerre people must support them.
“We thank the people of ward 7 for this mobilization. We appreciate the women for the support given to us and it will not be taken for granted. This local government belongs to us. Tomorrow your child may be governor, may be chairman or senator. Anybody can be anything.
“Today we have a Governor, please continue to stand by him and I assure you as a compassionate man that he is, he will not leave us lonely. When I told him about the Rumuokoro market and how outsiders have taken it over, he ordered that the market should be handed over to the community.”
I said my administration is running an open door policy, where issues concerning the people of Obio-Akpor are given attention to. I emphasized that the Governor is changing the narrative, by giving leadership position to young people with vision to make the State better.
I called on the people to eschew fear and continue to pray and support the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara.
Also, the Simplified Movement stormed ward fourteen in Eneka and Rukpokwu.
Speaking at the event, as the leader of Simplified Movement in Obio-Akpor, I thanked the people of ward fourteen, expecially the women for their turnout.
