The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is set to reopen its orientation camps across the country. The body was forced to shutdown the camps, due to the outbreak of the COVID-19, in the country.
The strategies and guidelines for reopening camps have been reviewed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) according to a circular signed by Y.S Ehoda-Adi, on behalf of the NYSC Director General.
The guidelines recommends training of key camp officials by officials of the NCDC on the prevention of infection and control;,decontamination of orientation camps, rearrangement of bed spaces to allow for the two-meter spacing, adoption of e-learning for some lectures in camps, and the adherence to social distancing protocol.
Others are temperature testing of corps members at every point of entry to camps and reduction in the number of corps members participating during each orientation exercise.
The guidelines are to ensure the safety of everyone from COVID-19 during the orientation course.
