Rivers State recorded no new case of the COVID-19 yesterday. This the first time the state will not be recording any new case in two days, since the outbreak of the virus. The total number of confirmed cases in the state still stands at 930 with 454 discharged and 35 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria recorded 649 new cases of the virus yesterday. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with-250; Oyo-100; Plateau-40; Delta-40; Abia-28; Kaduna-27; Ogun-22; Edo-20; Akwa Ibom-18; Kwara-17; FCT-17; Enugu-14; Niger-13; Adamawa-13; Bayelsa-7; Osun-6; Bauchi-6; Anambra-4; Gombe-3; Sokoto-2; Imo-1; and Kano-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 22,020 with 7,613 discharged and 542 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
