The Rivers State Police Command, says it is doing everything within its power to ensure the release of the abducted Chairman of Okirika Local Government Area, Hon. Philemon Kingoli.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni in a chat with journalists today, said the council boss was abducted by unknown gunmen on Wednesday.
He also said the sporadic shooting in some parts of Port Harcourt, yesterday, was as a result of cult clash between two rival cult groups.
Omoni debunked rumors making the rounds that one person was killed during the fracas. He said no corpse was seen by the command.
He assured residents of the State of adequate security of lives and properties, as the command is determined to rid the state of crime and criminality.
