The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Rivers State has condemned the rising activities of “one-chance” operators in the state, warning residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
The Chairman of the NOA in Rivers State, Mr Edward Banigo, said the repeated reports of one-chance incidents were capable of portraying the state in a bad light and creating a negative image of Rivers State.
Banigo called on security agencies to intensify efforts to protect lives and property, while taking decisive steps to curb the activities of one-chance operators across the state.
He disclosed that the agency would soon commence a sensitisation programme to educate residents on the activities of one-chance operators, how to identify potential risks and measures they can take to avoid falling victim.
The NOA chairman therefore urged residents to remain alert, exercise caution when using public transportation and promptly report suspicious activities to the appropriate security authorities.
