The Director of Information of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Dr. Festus Akande has reacted to the rumors making rounds that the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Mohammed has contracted the dreaded COVID-19 virus.
Dr. Akande in a statement yesterday denied the claims stating that it was only a rumour that the CJN is currently down with the virus.
The CJN who was supposed to swear in 72 new Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN), was absent at the ceremony, as reports started emanating that he was in Dubai receiving treatment after contracting the virus.
“I wish to state categorically clear that there is no medical report so far made available by anybody indicating that the Hon. CJN has tested positive for Coronavirus,” Festus said.
He furthermore called on those spreading the false report to make available copies of the laboratory test result of the CJN.
