The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has announced that the sum of N21 billion has been budgeted for the building of well-equipped hospitals in 14 states across the six geopolitical zones of the country.
The project in the 14 states is a joint project between the NNPC and its partners. N21 billion has been made available to construct them in the six geopolitical zones of the country.
Mele Kyari, MD of NNPC made the disclosure in Abuja during the hand over of 20 ventilators donated by Ocea S.A through Mystrose Defence Systems Limited to the Federal Government, in Abuja.
Secretary to the FG, Boss Mustapha while receiving the equipment said, “This is a hallmark of a national institution which, at this very challenging time of COVID-19, is filling the gap in the provision of the kind of things that the nation requires; the facilities that we need to put in place.”
Stakeholders have commended the NNPC for the proposed projects. They say it will would go a long way in strengthening the nation’s healthcare system.
