The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has allayed fears over the possible spread of the Ebola virus into the country through land borders, stating that Nigeria’s border points are under strict surveillance.
The Service said all official border crossings are fully manned, while digital monitoring systems have also been deployed to track routes that may be difficult for officers to physically patrol.
Speaking on the development, NIS spokesperson, Akinsola Akinlabi, explained that every individual entering Nigeria through the borders is properly screened and documented, with travellers required to present valid travel documents, including international health certificates.
