The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has approved the redeployment of several senior officers to key command and staff positions to strengthen operational effectiveness and national security.
Major General IA Ajose has been appointed Theatre Commander of Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, while other officers have been moved to strategic positions at the Defence Headquarters, Army Headquarters, Army War College Nigeria and other formations.
At the brigade level, Brigadier General MS Adamu will command the newly established 8 Brigade, while Brigadier General MS Sule takes charge of the 27 Task Force Brigade.
The Army said the postings are intended to ensure that critical operational theatres have the right leadership and expertise to respond effectively to Nigeria’s evolving security challenges.
The COAS charged the newly appointed officers to demonstrate professionalism, innovation and exemplary leadership in fulfilling the Army’s constitutional mandate of defending Nigeria’s sovereignty and maintaining peace and security.
