Abayomi Whint, a Nigerian-American, has officially assumed office as a judge of the Kings County Civil Court in New York.
Whint’s swearing-in ceremony took place on January 23, 2025, at Brooklyn Law School, as seen in a video shared on her Instagram page titled “Welcome to the bench, Your Honor!”
Elected in November 2024 as one of eight new judges for Brooklyn, Whint took her oath of office amid cheers from family and friends, many of whom wore white and green in celebration of her achievement.
