Prominent stakeholders of the Niger Delta region have reacted to the alleged financial misappropriation rocking the NDDC and probe of the commission by lawmakers.
Former DG of NIMASA, Dakuku Peterside has described the on going crises rocking the NDDC as an embarrassment.
Dakuku who made this known in a chat with journalists yesterday said the commission has failed on its mandate of developing the Niger Delta region.
He said though the commission has failed on its mandate, scrapping it is not the way forward. We need to get to the root of the matter and bring to book all those indicted, he noted.
OCJ Okocha on his part has advised Nigerians not to expect anything serious from the ongoing probe of the NDDC by the investigate Panel. He said the body language of the lawmakers does not show that they will be fair. This is because so many of them are implicated. The commission has failed the region, he noted.
Elder statesman, Anabs Sara-Igbe called on the relevant agencies like the EFCC to wade into the crises and bring all those involved in the alleged financial misappropriation to book.
