The Acting Director of Finance and Accounts of the Niger Delta
Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Ibanga Bassey Etang, is dead. The deceased died at the Braithwaite Memorial Hospital (BMH), Port Harcourt.
Ibanga who has been sick for over 2 weeks now, died from an undisclosed ailment about 2am, Today, Thursday 28 May 2020, a source disclosed. The development has forced the NDDC to be shut for two weeks.
Silas Anyawu Esq., who signed the memo confirming the shutting down of the commission for two weeks, on behalf of the management, wrote: “I am directed to inform all staff that management has approved that the commission be shut down for two weeks from today 28 May 2020.
The memo also advised staff of the commission to go into self-isolation for two weeks as they await further directive from Management. This is due to fears that the deceased may have allegedly died of COVID-19.
