The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has announced that International and Domestic flights remain suspended in the country, as only essential flights will be given approval.
This was made known in a statement released by the NCAA on Saturday, June 20, 2020.
Before now, there were reports that the federal government had approved five airports to resume operations on June 21. Few days ago, the taskforce on COVID-19 came out to announce that the June 21 date was for the submission of new guidelines and not the resumption of domestic flights.
The Presidential Taskforce had advised the aviation authorities to come up with new guidelines for the operations of domestic flights on or before June 21.
The airspace was shutdown by the federal government few months ago in a bid to curb the dreaded COVID-19, allowing only those on essential duties to fly.
Recently the federal government suspended the operations of two airline companies for violating its directive, because they operated without the approval of the government.
