The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has announced that unemployment rate increased to 27.1 per cent in the second quarter of 2020 from the 23.1 per cent recorded last two years.
The NBS made this known Today, Friday in its ‘Labor Force Statistics: Unemployment and Underemployment Report.
The report noted that, “For underemployment, the state which recorded the highest rate was Zamfara with 43.7 per cent, while Anambra State recorded the lowest underemployment rate, with 17 per cent in Q2 2020.”
Imo, Akwa Ibom and Rivers State reported the highest rate of unemployment with 48.7 percent, 45.2 percent and 43.7 percent, respectively.
