The Nigerian Navy has uncovered and dismantled two illegal refinery sites in Rivers State.
A statement on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, said personnel of Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Pathfinder made the discovery during “Operation Delta Sanity” around Dema Community in the Andoni general area of the state.
According to the Navy, the sites consisted of one refining oven, one reservoir, and three dugout pits containing large quantities of illegally siphoned crude oil and refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).
The Navy said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to curb crude oil theft and illegal refining activities in the Niger Delta.
