An illegal crude oil market at Obumakiri community in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers state has been busted by the Nigerian Navy.
Commander, Nigeria Navy Ship (NNS Pathfinder), Sulaiman Ibrahim, made this known in a statement on Wednesday.
According to him, an unspecified amount of crude oil stolen from pipelines in the area were also recovered.
He revealed that the perpetrators escaped through the swamps on sighting operatives of the command.
Sulaiman also said the market has been decimated and illegal oil activities deactivated.
