The Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base BONNY says it apprehended a suspect in possession of one AK-47 rifle, three AK-47 magazines, thirty-six rounds of 7.62mm X 39mm ammunition on Wednesday, Oct. 23 2024
The Navy in a statement said, three smoke grenade launchers and one locally made rifle were also recovered from him at Eleme-Ifoko Community, Degema LGA, Rivers State.
It said the arrest of the suspect followed credible intelligence, and that he is currently in custody undergoing investigation.
The Navy also said personnel discovered and impounded a wooden boat laden with a large amount of stolen crude oil in Asamatoro Community, Rivers State.
