The Nigerian Senate has increased prisoners daily feeding cost from N750 to N1000.
The National Assembly, yesterday, gave the approval after Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, NCS, Idris Isa, appeared before the House for his 2022 budget defense.
He said the daily feeding cost for each of the inmates has been increased from 450 to N750 as proposed in the 2022 budget estimates.
The Senators frowned at the N750 feeding cost per day proposed for each inmate, and ordered it be increased to N1000.
