The National Association of Private Schools Teachers (NAPRIST) is set to commence a nationwide strike on Monday, July 13, 2020. This is due to the continuous closure of schools in the country as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This was made known in a statement released by the National President of the body, Adams U.J.
Adams who called on all private schools teachers to come out enmasse in all the states of the federation for the protest, said all they want is for the government to take appropriate action.
“Due to the indefinite closure of schools as a result of the covid19 pandemic, many private schools have not been able to pay their workers salaries for the last three months. This has triggered some of them to call on the government for help,” he asserted.
The president noted that now is the time to draw the attention of the government to their plights, as they have long been abandoned.
