The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has launched the NAFDAC Consumer Safety Club (NCSC) at Government Secondary School, Rumuokwuta, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as part of efforts to combat drug abuse and eradicate counterfeit products.
The initiative, aimed at educating youths, was inaugurated by the agency’s Director for the South-South Zone, Pharm. Chukwuma Oligbu, on behalf of the Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye. Speaking at the event, Adeyeye encouraged students to serve as change agents by promoting values that inspire behavioral transformation.
Through the NCSC, NAFDAC seeks to involve students in its regulatory campaigns to fight against fake products and drug abuse in schools and communities. The initiative is part of the agency’s broader mission to instill integrity in future generations and foster a healthier, more responsible society.
