The Nigerian Air Force says it has destroyed three boats allegedly carrying illegally refined crude in Idama, Rivers State.
NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, made this known in a statement on Monday.
According to him, the crew discovered and destroyed an active illegal refining site with tanks and reservoirs loaded with suspected illegally refined products.
He said a jet belonging to the air component of Operation Delta Safe was used to destroy three boats said to be stealing crude oil from a pipeline in the State.
