Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, has said that he has no problems with the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Uche Secondus.
Wike, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, said his concern had been to save the party from collapse due to bad leadership.
The governor, said he had to speak out so people do not think he was in support of the mishap in the party.
“Everybody believed that whatever the national chairman was doing was dictated by Wike and must have the backing of Wike. I believe when you support somebody, support him to succeed,” he said.
“But when things are also going wrong, if you don’t speak out, people will believe you are part of it. Therefore, I owe it as a duty to say things are not going right,” he added.
He also warned that the party should be wary of agents of the ruling party, hell-bent on causing division in the PDP.
