Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers state, Darlington Nwauju has revealed that Chisom Lennard who was shot dead on Saturday was set for his PhD defence on Thursday.
Lennard the APC campaign director in Ahoada West Ward 10 was killed by gunmen who came to cart away election materials after he tried to stop them.
Nwauju, in a statement wondered why people would be rejoicing that people were killed in the name of politics.
His statement reads,
WHAT MANNER OF POLITICS?
Have u not seen their children grow into diverse addictions? Bcos they’re under a curse. Are u not seeing incurable diseases? It is a CURSE. How can you be rejoicing that people were killed in the name of politics? Have you no conscience? That men created in the image of GOD were slaughtered like goats and you clap that your ‘party’ won? PDP, APC, LP, Accord party CANNOT determine my own destiny. Why should you not be sober that families are mourning?
That a man who has his PhD defence this Thursday was killed?. That the man’s wife has a month old baby (1 month old!) – that this child will grow to learn that her dad was killed on the day of election in Rivers State?!!
You rejoice over other people’s shattered dreams? You celebrate wickedness and call it a game?
And you go to church to clap your hands?
