The Rivers State Ministry of Transport has said that its exercise of stopping tricycle operators known as “Keke-Napep” from operating on major roads in the state has been 95 percent successful.
The State commissioner for Transport, Osima Ginah disclosed this in a radio interview in Port Harcourt, over the weekend.
Hon. Ginah who reiterated that the move is not to witch-hunt anyone said the ministry have so far impounded dozens of tricycles in the last one week.
He noted that the aim of the exercise is to restore sanity on major roads in the state.
Osima Ginah equally called on commuters and Keke operators in the state to comply with the directives of the government so as to achieve sanity on the roads.
