Mega Rally in Honour of Wike Must Not Hold in Bayelsa Gov Diri WarnsThe Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, has issued a warning regarding a planned mega rally by a faction of the PDP in honor of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, scheduled for April 12, 2025.
In a press briefing today, Diri emphasized that the rally should not take place in the state due to security concerns. He ordered that no government-owned facilities be used for any rallies without government approval.
He said, “some persons are threatening the peace of this state and they want to host the FCT minister in Tombia roundabout. That meeting must not be held anywhere in Bayelsa State!
“Don’t import insecurity here; this is not FCT; you are not from Bayelsa State. All service commanders are hereby put on alert.
“There’s a government in this state.
The government with security agencies have worked tirelessly to keep the peace here. Don’t import and export insecurity from your state to Bayelsa State.”
