A Magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt, has remanded one Sunday Samuel in prison custody for impregnating a 13-year-old girl.
The suspect was arraigned by the Human Rights Desk of the Rivers State Police Command for the crime.
The victim, told the court that the suspect is her boyfriend who is responsible for her pregnancy.
Chief Magistrate, Gomba Osaro adjourned the matter to August 16, 2021 for consideration of bail application of the suspect, after he pleaded not guilty.
Meanwhile, stakeholders have condemned the act, as they call for proper prosecution of the suspect.
