A man identified as “Area” was today, caught and beaten to a pulp for stealing Okazi at the popular Mile 3 market in Diobu, Port Harcourt.
Owner of the goods, said the man stole them from her at mile 1 market and ran to mile 3 market.
She said the matter was reported to her union, and they traced him down to mile 3 market, where he was caught while trying to auction the goods.
The suspect on his part, explained that the woman was owing him, which was why he absconded with the goods, but nobody listened to him, as he was beaten with sticks.
It took the intervention of some police officers at the market for him to be rescued.
