The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, MAN has urged the Rivers State government to direct security operatives at the borders to allow carriers of raw materials used in the production of essentials, free passage into the state.

Chairman of the Rivers/Bayelsa branch of the association, Adawari Pepple in a statement yesterday said, a lot of raw materials needed for the production of these essentials are blocked at the borders.

He stated that some security operatives  at the borders do not know that there are raw materials like sachets, containers and more, needed to produce and package essential products.

Adawari equally noted that producers of non essentials in the state may find it difficult paying the salaries of their staff this period, if the government fails to grant them bail-out funds. There should be plans by the government to ensure businesses do not die, he declared.
