A Port Harcourt resident, identified as Henry Tonye Wariso has accused some officials of the Rivers State Taskforce on Street Trading and Illegal Motor Parks, of extorting the sum of fifteen thousand naira from him after he was battered and abducted for over an hour.
Wariso, in a Facebook post, said the incident happened yesterday in Port Harcourt.
The victim, said his car was vandalized and his tyres destroyed by the Taskforce officials.
Wariso, who promised to give more details on the incident later, called on the State government to disband the group with immediate effect as they have outlived their usefulness.
“Today I was battered and abducted for over an hour by these urchins, my car tyres destroyed, the car vandalized and #15,000.00 ransom money collected from me before I was set free!! Details later!!!,” he said.
