The Rivers State Government says the adjourned case at the Court of Appeal has nothing to do with tenure elongation of council chairmen.
The state commissioner for Information, Joe Johnson disclosed this in a chat with journalists on Wednesday.
According to him, Justice Kio of the state High Court already dealt with tenure elongation, adding that the case awaiting hearing at the Appeal Court is between Martin Amaewhule and Oko-Jumbo on who is the authentic Speaker of the state assembly.
Johnson said this in reaction to claims by some former council chairmen that their case was still at the Court of Appeal.
