Niger Delta Activist – Ankio Briggs has reacted to the political crisis rocking Rivers State.
Briggs in a statement said the lawmakers who defected from the PDP to the APC should join the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike in Abuja if they prefer to be loyal to him, adding that Abuja is where he has jurisdiction.
She called on Governor Sim Fubara to demonstrate to Rivers people that he actually realizes that he has the powers of a governor to call things to order.
“If the 26 or 27 lawmakers prefer to be loyal to Nyesom Wike, then they should join him in the Federal Capital Territory, that is where he has jurisdiction, that is where he has power to exercise. Wike’s power is not in Rivers State. The governor of Rivers State is Sim and Sim must be allowed to be the governor of Rivers State,” she said.
“I am using this opportunity to call on Governor Sim Fubara that he has to demonstrate to us the people that he actually realizes that he has the powers of a governor to call to order the things that he need to call to order even if it means going to see the President in Abuja,” she added.
