The presidential campaign council of the Labour Party has said that the resignation of its Director-General, Doyin Okupe will not affect the party in anyway.
Spokesperson of the council, Yunusa Tanko in a chat with This Day shortly after Okupe’s resignation said the party was not structured on the shoulder of one person.
According to him, the party has millions of soldier who can takeover from Okupe.
“Labour Party has millions of soldiers who can take the baton from where Okupe stopped. It is a national organic movement that no one can stop,” he said.
He described Okupe as a reputable democrat who has paid his dues and he will continue to earn the respect of many.
Okupe, yesterday announced his resignation in a letter addressed to presidential candidate of the party, Peter Obi over what he described as personal travails.
