Ikechukwu Emetu, Deputy Governor of Abia State and chairman of the Labour Party’s National Steering Committee on Membership, Revalidation, and e-Registration, has emphasized that the party welcomes everyone, regardless of their background.
Speaking during the presentation of the party’s new membership drive report led by the Nenadi Usman-led National Caretaker Committee, Emetu said the Labour Party is “a national party for all and not an exclusive group.”
He added that even President Bola Tinubu would be welcome if he chooses to join the party ahead of the 2027 elections. “This is a party open to everyone. Nobody is barred from joining,” Emetu stated.
