Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Dr. Chidi Lloyd has said that only few houses in Ibaa community do not have a dump site for illegally refined petroleum products.
The council boss, disclosed this while reacting to Wednesday’s fire outbreak that gutted several houses in the community.
Eyewitnesses say the fire started when a truck carrying illegally refined products caught fire.
According to Hon. Lloyd, despite the efforts of the government to curb the menace, it is still ongoing in the community.
He stated that he will redouble efforts in the fight against illegal oil refining in Ibaa community to ensure that the act becomes a thing of the past.
He also said some key sponsors of the act have been identified and that he would work with the state government to declare them wanted.
Lloyd assured that his administration would bring an end to the menace, even if it was the only thing he achieved.
