Governorship Candidate of the Accord Party, in Rivers State, Chief. Dumo Lulu Briggs has said that Ace Comedian KObaba has taken it upon himself to perform the duties of government which is to make positive impact in the lives of Rivers youths.
Dumo, disclosed this in a statement shortly after attending the “KOBABA Youth Convention” held on the 19th and 20th of August 2022 in Port Harcourt.
The Governorship hopeful who was one of the speakers at the Convention, said when the organizer reached out to him, he had to jump on it, as one of his priorities is to educate the next generation.
He commended the organizer of the event, noting that he is proud of him.
His statement reads,
Whenever I am called upon to the concerns of the youths, I have always seen it as a privilege to make very necessary sacrifices, such that for me it’s more of a need than want.
So, when KOBABA called my attention to this program, KOBABA YOUTH CONVENTION, with the theme, “Away from poverty”, I jumped at it. Because for me, it’s a honor to do my bit for the youths, knowing that I have no greater responsibility than to sacrifice all that is within me to see that I educate the next generation before which I appeared today.
I told the youths the home truth, that first, they have to dream, and they have to dream big, even if they are the only ones dreaming the dream, they should go ahead in dreaming it and then focus on it with every inch of sacrificial preparation and persistence.
I also seized the opportunity to prepare their minds on the forthcoming elections. I made it clear to them that, the 2023 election is a defining moment for them, and it’s left for them to decide the kind of future they want for themselves. But that it’s important for them to know that they don’t have to vote for anyone on the grounds of personal relationship, but whether or not the person has the capacity to grow the institutions of State, whether or not the person has the capacity to grow the economy to accommodate every resident of Rivers State and whether or not the person has the capacity to expand the economy to accommodate all of us. Either way, the onus is on them to identify and bring to leadership a trusted vehicle through which they can realize their own aspirations, and then dare to succeed in a Rivers State that holds great possibilities.
It was such a Fruitful time spent with the youths, particularly that other young and vibrant speakers made such excellent contributions that I believe made tremendous impact in the lives of the youths.
I appreciate the organiser of the program, KOBABA who took it upon himself to perform the duties of Government, which is to make positive impacts in the lives of Rivers youths. I am indeed proud of him, and very honored to be at that event today, believing that together we have all contributed to the great future of our young ones.
