King, Ateke Michael Tom yesterday, celebrated his 4th year as the Amanyanabo of Okochiri, in Okirika Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The event which had in attendance the Governor of Rivers State, Royal Fathers and dignitaries from all walks of life was held at the Palace of the Monarch in Okochiri Kingdom.
The occasion, was also used to commission a newly built palace by King Ateke Tom.
The palace was commissioned by Governor Wike and dedicated to God by the Anglican Bishop of Okirika Dioceses.
Wike, who commended Ateke for his achievements as King, said the newly built palace was more than a palace.
He said the banquet hall of the palace was bigger and better than that of Government House, and jokingly added that he will use his power as Governor to stop Ateke from using it.
Some guests who spoke to us, described the occasion as “never seen before”. They hailed the monarch for the love he has for his people and described him as a true father.
King Ateke Tom on his part, commended the Governor and other dignitaries for honoring him, as he promised never to disappoint the kingdom and his people.
