Fast-rising Port Harcourt rapper, KashMoney The Force, has berated the Rivers State chapter of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), describing the organisation as “useless” and ineffective.
The rapper made the remarks in a trending video, alleging that the association had failed to improve the welfare of artistes or make any positive impact on the music industry in the state.
He accused the leadership of being more concerned about their personal interests than the development of musicians, saying the association lacked structure and had produced no meaningful results for its members.
“Rivers State PMAN, that system is just existing as a dud, so useless. It’s a big shame that we have such a system filled up with people who only think for their pockets, no structure and no positive effects in the industry,” he said.
The Force also questioned why comedians were allegedly being placed in charge of musical concerts, citing a recent concert organised by a popular wine brand in Port Harcourt.
He argued that a functional musicians’ association should engage major brands, negotiate opportunities for musicians and ensure its members were featured at such events.
The rapper urged members of the association to resign, describing the organisation as “deadbeat” and a “white elephant.”
He further praised comedians in Port Harcourt for what he described as their coordinated approach to promoting their interests, while questioning why musicians could not achieve similar cooperation.
PMAN had yet to react to the allegations and criticisms by the artiste as of the time of filing this report.
