The Rivers State Police Command, says continuous closure of courts in the state have left Police cells congested.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni said this in a chat with Journalists in Port Harcourt on Thursday.
He said the strike by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), should be addressed by the relevant authorities, so that suspects can be charged to courts.
He said those with high profile cases such as armed robbery, Kidnapping and murder are in their custody without trial.
Omoni said the command is hopeful that the issues will soon be resolved, as further delay will lead to more problems.
