Social media users are calling for justice over the rape and murder of a 22-year-old UNIBEN female student, Vera Uwaila Omozuwa.
The first-year Microbiology student was allegedly found lying in a pool of blood in The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Edo Provice 10, Ikpoba Hill, Benin. Sources say the student usually went to the church premises to read quite frequently.
The student who was later rushed to the hospital said she was reading alone when some unknown men attacked, raped and hit her with a fire extinguisher. Vera later passed on at the hospital.
Although the case has been reported to Oregbeni Police Station, her friends, family and citizen journalists have taken to social media to demand justice for the brutal murder of Uwaila Omozuwa, with the hashtag #JusticeForUwa
