Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem has been sworn in as the substantive President of the Court of Appeal. The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad administered the oaths of allegiance and office on Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, Today.
Dr. Festus Akande, the Apex Court’s Director of Information had confirmed, Today’s swearing-in ceremony to news correspondents.
Mensem now becomes the second woman to lead at the highest level of the Appeal Court. Her swearing-in follows the confirmation of her appointment by the Senate after her three-months acting appointment was renewed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Justice Mensem holds an LL.B and LL.M from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria-Nigeria and a Post Graduate Diploma from the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London, Russel Square London.
