Spokesperson of the Rivers State Civil Society Organizations, RIVCSO, Solomon Lenu has urged the Rivers State Government to fulfill its promises made to wife of late Joe Blankson, who died while rescuing passengers in a boat mishap.
Mrs. Mercy Blankson had in a statement yesterday, said the government was yet to redeem any of the promises made to her, despite writing series of letter to them.
Lenu, in a statement Today, said it is disheartening Blankson’s family has been abandoned after he laid down his life for others to live.
He said the development is capable of discouraging Nigerians from being patriotic and helpful.
He stated that if the late Blankson was an official of the government, the family would have been properly taken care of.
