Vice President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), Sunday Adeleye has alleged that the Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare paid Chukwuebuka Enekwechi the sum of $1000 to delete the video of him washing his jersey at the Tokyo Olmpics.

Chukwuebuka, Nigeria’s shot put medal hopeful, had posted a video of him washing his jersey ahead of his final game at the ongoing Olympics.

Mr Adeleye, during a chat with journalists today, said Sunday Dare was behind the problems encountered by the Nigerian team at the ongoing event.

He also accused the minister of defying court orders restraining him from meddling in the activities of the Athletics Federation.

10 Nigerian athletes were disqualified from the event for not meeting anti-doping requirements.
