The Rivers State Civil Society Organization, RIVCSO, has said that it would not take Governor, Nyesom Wike more than one month to end illegal oil refining also known as “Kpo Fire” if he was interested.
Chairman of RIVCSO, Enefaa Georgewill disclosed this in a statement, Today.
He stated that kpo fire operators are well known and that they move the products in the state with reckless abandon, without anyone doing anything to stop them.
He also said such activity is the cause of soot in the state and that it has destroyed Rivers and mangroves.
He revealed that the more we pretend, the more it kills us.
His statement reads,
If The Rivers State Governor Is Interested, It Won’t Take Him More Than One Month To Stop Kpo Fire That Is Operated Under Our Noses & By Our Brothers!
From Okrika to Marine base,Kalabari to Abonnema wharf,Engenni to Ahoada main town,Bodo to Bori,Emohua to Choba,etc, the operators are well known and move it around with careless abandon.
This evil business don’t only produce soot that contaminate the air, it has destroyed all our rivers and mangroves. The more we pretend, the more soot kills us!
