The Rivers State Civil Society Organizations, has reacted to calls by the State Police Command, for residents to provide them with useful information, to help secure the state.
Spokesperson of the Command, Nnamdi Omoni had earlier released numbers, through which members of the public can reach out to the Police.
Chairman of RIVCSO, Enefaa Georgewill in a statement, over the weekend, called on the Police hierarchy to improve its “Police to civilian relations and also promote confidence building activities.”
He said it is difficult for citizens that are afraid of their Police, to reach out and provide useful information to them.
Enefaa who had earlier condemned the attacks on Security Operatives, and called for an end to the senseless killings, said Police should truly be friends to the people, if they are to succeed.
