The Former Executive Secretary of National Health Insurance Scheme, Professor Usman Yusuf has raised alarm regarding escalating insecurity in the North.
The Professor who appreared on a live interview on Arise Television today, said the Buhari administration has failed the north. He also described the Kaduna-Abuja road, where citizens have been kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents as a “highway to hell”.
Professor Yusuf who recommended citizen participation in the protection of lives and properties in the north said northern residents are not interested in what tribe produces the next president. People in the north just want to go about their businesses in peace, he said.
In addition, Professor Yusuf labelled politicians who steal public funds as the real bandits in Nigeria.
The Professor warned that whereas there is a lot of focus on the politics of election, insecurity is Nigeria’s primary concern, one that needs to be addressed with urgency.
