The Ijaw National Congress (INC) has called on Ohanaeze Ndigbo to desist from making provocative statements that could escalate tensions in Rivers State.
The National Publicity Secretary of INC Worldwide, Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha, issued the warning in a statement on Monday from Asaba, Delta State.
Oyakemeagbegha’s remarks were in response to a media report attributing support from a faction of Ohanaeze Ndigbo for the 27 lawmakers who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He emphasized the need for restraint and responsible communication to maintain political stability in the region.
